We could not gulp all the candy down when we wanted   . Mom would allot us a few pieces every so often. My older sisters, smarter than me, would fill small bags with their candy when mom wasn’t looking and hide them under their beds. When I turned twelve, I split with my sisters and I went trick or treating with my friends and the twins went with theirs. My pals and I would do the rounds, go home, alter our costumes a little and head out again. We made sure to hit Mrs McCallum’s house twice because she gave out homemade Rice Crispy cakes. One year on our second trip around, Mrs McCallum said to me, “RJ, those pretty sisters of yours were here just a little while ago.” Oh oh, she discovered our ruse.

(Chucky Play Halloween shirt)“I’M NOT SINGING BY MYSELF!” stamped eight-year-old Lori. “They can’t sing because they can’t talk!” Lori was asked to recite a poem instead. Lori, who has Eidetic Memory had read a poem to us the other   titled, The Little Elf. She recited that poem by memory for Mrs Sisson who was quite impressed and gave us some special treats. When we got home, all our booty was dumped out in separate piles and mom and dad would go through each piece of candy to look for tampering. Mom took all the apples, checked them good and made apple pies with them. She also made pumpkin pie from our jack o lanterns my sisters and I carved out. Great pumpkin pies loaded with whipped cream on top.
